I absolutely love command squads and had loads of fun preparing and restoring these models to represent a Regimental Command.
They are also a first test of how my basing scheme will work in infantry units, despite them having a slightly larger base size then regular guardsmen I think it'll carry well.
The squad is composed of:
- Commander Colonel Michelle "The Iron Hound" Kross
- Colonel-Major Julian Kaine - Regimental Standard Bearer
- Lieutenant Marcus Fenn - Master of Vox
- Major Silas Drake - Veteran Gunner
- Captain Harlan Voss - Veteran Medic
Banded together over decades of shared warfare, the Regimental Command squad of the Arcana-nine operates through a constant tug-of-war between Colonel Kross's aggressive, unorthodox gambits and her staff's more measured and doctrinated tactics. As Michelle spearheads every charge into the fire, her exasperated officers seamlessly coordinate to redirect artillery, keep her forces together and hold the regimental standard high mid-combat - turning her high-risk assaults into decisive victories. Inquisitor Drakos gladly fuels Kross's relentless spearheads with unlimited munitions and tactical freedom, using the chaos of her offensive pushes as an ultimate smoke screen for his secret agendas, while Michelle views the Radical as a rare high-ranking patron who actually values raw momentum over rigid defensive doctrine.
Marcus is a perpetually stressed communications officer who uses a tactical servo-skull to read battlefield telemetry, frantically redirecting artillery fire and keeping neighboring forces informed whenever Michelle charges ahead of her support lines.
Voss is a cynical, grizzled field medic who openly despises the casualty risks created by Michelle's wild maneuvers, yet performs legendary combat medicine under heavy fire to keep every squad member alive.
Silas is a battle-hardened veteran equipped with augmented targeting eyes and his trusted meltagun, who endlessly grumbles about being dragged into point-blank range before stepping up to melt enemy tanks into slag.
Kaine is Michelle’s oldest friend and second-in-command who carries the tattered, bloodstained Cadian 708th regimental banner, serving as the only officer who can openly question her reckless gambits while remaining unflinchingly loyal by her side.
