I finally got myself a Baneblade.
It's one of those models that has been on the wishlist for years, and honestly a big part of why I wanted to collect Imperial Guard in the first place. There's just something about seeing a super-heavy tank rolling across the battlefield that perfectly captures the scale of the faction.
I found this one second-hand at a very reasonable price. The catch was fairly obvious:
It occupied a strange middle ground. It wasn't quite Chaos enough for most renegade collectors looking for a painted vehicle, but anyone looking for an Imperial Baneblade probably wasn't too excited about a giant eight-pointed star plastered across the hull either.
A little bit of paint later and it has been hastily recommissioned for loyal service. It still needs some weathering, touch-ups, and a few details cleaned up, but it's now more than ready to join the regiment.
Not a bad outcome for a tank that was apparently only one paint layer away from changing sides. Just don't let the ordo hereticus look too deep into its service record...
