[game session] Blackstone Fortress - The Corridors of Death

We managed to get enough clues on accessing the Null-gravitic abyss that we managed to make two strongholds in a row!

The path to the stronghold put the explorers against hordes of Renegade Guardsmen, but these minions are no match for their honed skills at this point and were dealt with no compassion.

The explorers looking strong after defeating two combat levels. Pious Vorne and Thaddeus, the purifier are contempt in hunting down heretics in the Blackstone Fortress, while Espern Locarno has his own agenda and tolerates the fanatic zealots. Amallyn Shadowguide seeks her own destiny, but these Mon-Keigh are useful meatshields that allow her to take precise shots at foolish enemies who beleve cover will save them from her long pulse rifle.

A trapped corridor with valuables required great agility and defense to get through. After the Eldar went through with xenos grace, Thaddeus was compelled to prove that his faith in the Emperor would protect him in face of this insulting behavior. He crossed the deadly traps, shielded by his faith, and only had a few minor wounds to account for, but emerging with some good items to boot and his point proven.

We finally reached the Corridor of Death, where a group of renegades where attempting to break into the Ur-ghul lair as we ambushed. The prizes within had to be ours!

The exit of the elevator was choking with hostiles, but the explorers managed to open a gap and make it through, piles of dismembered, charred bodies in their wake.

Once the group was clear of the elevator it was a mad dash across the open ground of the dungeon to reach the tunnels that would lead into the Ur-ghul lair. Luckly, the explorers managed to outpace the most challenging foes and trample through the Renegade Guardsmen that stood in their path.

Once inside the tunnels it was easy to block off any enemies. The explorers had luck in that the laser field at the entrance deactivated just in time, Thaddeus ran inside, blasting the startled first wave of Ur-ghuls with his servo-stubber and was followed by Espern Locarno, who with great prescience managed to find a Dark Age of Technology weapon hidden in the filth! With this great prize in hand the group activated their teleport beacons back to precipice and left the Ur-ghuls to feast on the servants of the darkness that would follow in their wake.
