Game 1 - Adeptus Custodes

My first enemy was a small Custodes force with a Knight Armiger for added firepower.

  • Knight Armiger
  • Shield Captain
  • Shield Captain
  • 3x Custodes squads
The Battle Started well despite me losing initiative and a Rhino on Turn 1 as the Knight Armiger failed his charge. I retreated to try and separate myself from the machine so I could charge the Custodes Squads but the Armiger managed to connect anyway.

My Long Fangs failed to do much damage to the Custodes but oh boy did the Bloodclaw charge hurt. I was unfortunate in that my opponent made all 6 Thunder hammer saves on his Armiger (I had put the Wolfkin Saga on my Lord for this Battle) at a crucial moment and turned the tide of the battle in his favor.

Custodes MvP: The Knight Armiger filled the role of a damage sponge that had to be dealt with as well as providing some needed heavy firepower against my Rhinos.

Wolves MvP: The Bloodclaw pack leaders with Powerfists were a force to be reckoned with. Their charge when augmented by the Wulfen Stone is lethal with 8 PF attacks on 3+ with character re-rolls followed by a flurry of chainsword attacks. Had they had no contention from the Armiger, they'd consistently wipe a Custodes squad per charge.

Memorable Moment: The turn of the battle between the Knight Armiger and the Space Wolf Characters. While the Blood Claws focused their rage on the Custodes Squad, the Wolf Guard Battle Leader and the Wolf Lord teamed up against the machine. Even frozen by the Armor of Russ, the Knight Armiger managed to save all out of 6 Thunder hammer attacks that should have reduced it to a pile of rubble thanks to a 4++ relic. Even by honoring the chapter and fighting a second time, the machine refused to yield and managed to not only kill the Wolf Lord but also butcher the Blood Claws in the following turns.

Game 2 - Grey Knights

I had the chance to play my Nemesis Felipe Castello once again, this time versus a Grey Knight force.
  • Draigo
  • 2x Grandmaster in Nemesis Dreadknight
  • 2x Imperial Guard HQs
  • 3x Guardsmen
A very tactical game in where my speed placed me way ahead in victory points early on as we fought for control over six objectives. My Rhinos full of savage wolfs advanced far into enemy territory unimpeded until the Nemesis Dreadknights dropped in. They failed to score First Blood on the Long Fangs thanks to the resilience of the Terminator Wolg Guard Pack Leader.

What followed was a grueling match of blow by blow, point by point carnage that ended in 14x13 victory points to the Grey Knights with the single wolf survivor being the Wolf Guard Battle Leader with the Armor of Russ.

MvP Grey Knights: Despite the sheer power brought forth by the Nemesis Dreadknights and Draigo the real honors go for the Company Commanders of the Imperial Guard. While the Dreadknights held back the pack of angry wolves those two managed to not only put their men into positions to contest objectives but they themselves trekked across the board via their "Move, Move, Move!" orders and claimed one objective each in an excellent display of cardio marathon training. More than their Plasma Pistols, it was the quick legs of the generals that assured victory that day!

MvP Space Wolves: The two Rhinos where fundamental in the early vioctopry point advantage, driving the pack exceedingly close to enemy ranks all the while scoring points and driving the guard away from theirs. They drew fire and were a constant nuisance that required a couple valuable turns of Dreadknight firepower to finally remove.

Memorable Moment: Safe within a ruined building, the two surviving Long Fangs had secured an objective for most of the game. Little did they know, the sturdy building they hid within would not save them from the Grandmasters. In a display of battlefield awareness and cunning the old warrior used Astral Aim to shoot trough the building itself and eliminate the scoring units hiding in cover. Draigo later teleported to that objective and destroyed it, scoring the last points that they needed to win. What a great game that was.

Game 3 - Ultramarines

My last game was against an Ultramarine infantry line that had also been defeated by the two armies mentioned above. A grudge match in a sense as we fought over to decide who of us would finally come on top!

  • Tigurius, master-librarian
  • Captain in Gravis Armor
  • Company Champion
  • Hellblasters
  • Inceptors
  • Tactical squads w/ Plasma
  • Assault Squad w/ Power Fist
  • Inceptors
The mission was a mix of killpoints and objectives and I knew I'd on the losing side until my warriors made their charge and started killing. I set-up on the middle of the board, put longfangs on the hunt and we started at it.

His Hellblasters took a sizeable chunck out of a Rhino, dropping it to only 4 woundsm but then I cast Storm + Strat and suddenly he couldn't hit anything. All his wasted firepower went right into the Rhinos and my Bloodclaws were happy to disembark for the kill.

The squad on the damaged rhino ran back to deal with intruders while the other pack, alongside all my characters, connected into combat against his largest infantry blob protecting the Hellblasters.

Carnage my friends. Carnage. We won by 21x14 on a bloody endless melee that I'll chronicle down below.

MvP Ultramarine: The large Intercessors squad at the middle threatened the whole table and by the Scions of Guilliman Stratagem where a force to be reckoned with, wiping out my Grey Hunters and seriously impeding my approaching vectors.

MvP Wolves: Longfangs on the hunt came in at the very backs of the enemy dropping serious firepower back on my deployment zone where the assault squad had secured a control point. Later on they moved and charged the back of the Hellblasters squad helping flank the enemy and wiping out the whole bunch in a furious turn of combat. They finally held the last objective surrounded by dead marine bodies dropping missiles and Heavy Bolter Fire on the surviving tactical squads scattered around the battlefield.

Memorable moment: The turn 3 melee that followed after the Bloodclaw charge. Even after falling back, the Hellblasters could not escape the Heroic Intervention of the Space Wolf heroes. Challenged only by the Company Champion both sides made use of "Honour the Chapter" and "Only in death does duty end" to fight a bloddy and endless melee of great heroics and deeds. All said and done the Thunderhammer felled the Captain in Gravis Armor and wiped out most of the Hellblasters while the Wolf Claw Battle Leader and the Champion Killed each other in a duel. A bloody massacre worthy of a great saga!
