I finally assembled my transport case.
I love it, it was cheap and works well, but if you are interested in doing something similar, here are some considarions:
- Weight and Durability: Keep in mind that this DIY solution will be heavy as its a big metal case.
- Protection: Although this case is an affordable and functional solution for transporting miniatures, it may not protect them well in case of a fall or if something heavy is placed on top. It can get crushed and fail catastrophically, something that other solutions like using "very useful box" are better at.
However, the usability is great as the trays are extremely accessible, and if you are placing models back on them as they get destroyued, half your army will be ready for transport back after the game is done!
Materials Needed:
- 2 Ikea Kvissle letter trays
- Case hinges (hardware store or Amazon)
- Case Locks (hardware store or Amazon)
- Handles (hardware store or Amazon)
- A drill with metal drilling bits
- Rivets and a rivet tool
- Bolt or screws for the handles
