Been wishing to test Oil Paints, specifically doing oil washes, for a while now. Some inspirations are drawn from Black Magic Craft, Eons of Battle and Grimdark Compendium, to name a few.
The experiment is a success, with tons of things to improve, but lots of lessons learned and a cool miniature as a result.
This guy is painted in purple and gold armor because it looks cool, but it draws inspiration from Soul Drinkers and a friend of mine's chapter, the Dragon Knights. But this is just an unaffiliated test model for now.
Work In Progress
First color coat after priming and zenithal.
Base Colors locked in Acrylics
Oil paints and materials
The first washes I made were too thinned down and broke some of the pigments, but it was fine.
First initial application of oils
Final oils after cleaning up and modelling
