[Hobby] Warhamer 40k + Stargrave - Servo-skulls painted

I managed to fit in a short painting session this week when baby was asleep earlier and chores had been addressed for the day.

This allowed me to paint up all of the servo skulls! They came together better than I expected, especially considering they were just meant to be a quick job.

That’s one more piece checked off for being able to run Scenario 2 of the Stargrave 40k Hope Eternal campaign. Next on the list is sorting out the train layout for the table.

Thank you! The main challenge has been on how to make the space marines feel right, but I managed to come up with a few rules to, at least, cover that narratively: the trick I've been using is to reinterpret failures rather than ignore them. A “miss” doesn’t have to mean incompetence, instead it becomes restraint, choosing not to waste ammo etc... Getting “taken out” can represent exhaustion, injury, or tactical withdrawal, not a mortal wound, and they are mostly resigned to move away and find a better opportunity to strike. Basically, I try my best to make them feel powerful in their kit, but respect the game mechanics and reinterpret them post-fact, narrating it as moments of pressure, distraction, or attrition rather than outright weakness. It keeps things immersive without breaking the rules and I think I've managed to do it somewhat so far. I really have to think about the commando soldier being a Wolf Scout though... that guy is far from Astarte levels
